Is Aftershock being led by Gold Coast Wheelers, or is it Gold Coast Cruisers?

They volunteered and I didn' think we'd have a bunch of people beating down the door to do Aftershock. I haven't told them yet.

Fawk... Hey Krusty, do you want to lead Aftershock and have those guys for trail bitches?

I added Lemoore-on to Sledge... Phildo, can you authorize his login to post in this forum?

And for that matter, if you can read this, my vote is you should be able to write here also.

I also posted on the Pirate thread, no raffle until the tail gunners report in. It's been an issue the last 2 years with trail runs still being out when the raffle goes down. Maybe we should say "20 Rigs. period" or something????

I have seen rigs line up, and not make it past the sand dune--- it will be up to the trailboss to check for trail-doable rigs---(ie: a showroom navagator it the line for backdoor)(washed/waxed new runner for sledge)

Would be GREAT if trailbosses had a common radio that would reach camp---- report in if MAJOR problems and require assistance or 'rescue'.

I'm gonna kinda lean away from talking about Body Damage. We're trying to do this the right (read - conservative) way and inidicating the chance for damage only puts us in a bad position.

I would like to see something in the regs like TDS has as far as minimum equipment.

Is there a way to have minimum requirements for each run on the sign-ups?

Krusty
02-03-2004, 10:26 PM
Seat Belts, metal top or roll bar, fire extinguisher, tow rope/strap/cable/chain/or winch are the TDS required. First Aid Kit, spare tire, C/B are 'recommended'.
We are closer to camp for the most part - so the spare tire-?- (I can't see why a 'parking brake' would nessarily be a required item !)

I'll tell you right now (and Krusty and Phat Pat were there) I was fukin pissed at being denied my trail on my first Jambo because some fukface tried to run it with a scabbed together tie rod

I'm gonna hold my own tech inspection on the line to my trail. Fukfaces don't get to run.

I'm gonna hold my own tech inspection on the line to my trail. Fukfaces don't get to run. That's why we are trail bosses. Let's adopt some Cal4Wheel rules. Fire extinguisher, strap, tow points mandatory in addition to what's listed. First aid kit and comms highly recommended.

Dave, for SunBonnet, I want 33's, locked F and R, and gears. Hopefully not too many show up with less than 35's. Do you think the splinter obstacle can be done with less than 35's??

tune up that new antenna for you. It takes a different
meter than CB.

About 90% of the TDS members now have 2M and we almost
never use CB. I'll put the SWR meter in the camper
when I get home tonight so I don't forget it. :D

Hey Dave,
I don't know that one needs to have a winch as mandatory as Chris and I have never had one operational, nor needed one. Also I wouldn't be opposed to having 10 rigs along so long as all of them were pretty capable. I don't know how many of the Arizona guys are coming but I'd hate to see them not be able to get on the run because it was full. Anyway it's of course totally up to you and whatever you decide we're happy to comply with.

Erik (The Purple Samurai) The limit is just a starter, I'm sure we'll probably allow a couple extra... as far as a winch, I know you've done it, I also know that Aaron required a multiple winch point recovery to get out. You guys will be your on your own up there and I want you to be prepared as possible.

TheNerple
02-09-2004, 01:13 PM
Well, we just need to get the winch cable back on Chris' junk and we'll have an operational winch. Chris and I plan to run the trail a few times prior, just to find some of the easier spots in case people have some problems. We broke that trail with 3 rigs in under a few hours so I hate to lead 5 people up there and be done in under an hour or two. I guess we could always just run some other trials.

I already talked to Chris about this. With the trail "capped" at 5, you still have 7 counting you and Chris. And the cap is soft, if we need to and more, and we will, we can, and will, at our descretion. If we put the cap at 10, we'd end up with 15

You'll have as much as you can handle, trust me.

Hey pat, is that SWR meter for a CB or will it work on the 2 meter freqs? (144-148mhz)

Krusty

a SWR meter -- probably C/B- (11 meters), I bought Art's a couple months ago-
2 meter takes a different meter- :(
The radio I bought was on a link that JC posted--- ICOM, V8000, and I got the mobile/mag mount antenna to match. (sent from Sunnyvalle, bay area, 3 days delivery UPS)
