It's a fairly simple process. Any of the local gun shops will gladly take your money for the safety course, and the application/fee is to be delt with at the local R/C PD Station (Big building behind Taco Bell).

I don't think it's that easy in the state of California. I checked into it a while back and you needed good cause to carry, before they would evan think about issuing a ccw permit.

That's true. But Kern County is different.

Up here in the sticks, you have a much better chance of getting one issued by the Sheriff then you typically would down in them more populated areas.
